360-degree videos are increasingly under study by developers. Google's virtual reality glasses and the increasingly precise gyroscope system in many devices today let you have immersive cinematographic experiences that can be player on any medium-quality smartphone. Google Spotlight Stories gathers, in a single app, some of the shorts made with this technology.
The app lets you find information, download, and play a series of videos using 360-degree viewing technology. This makes watching videos an authentic immersive experience, as the camera view shifts following the rotation of your smartphone.
The project is being supported by important artists. Justin Lin, for example, director of the latest installments of Fast & Furious, among other films, has directed Help, an amazing sci-fi short that headlines amongst this first installment of titles within this app.
